It gives me great pleasure to announce that Ben Rahilly will be making his 1st Grade debut in the Vikings v Gungahlin game at Vikings Park on Saturday 2 April 2016, kick-off at 1505hrs.
Ben was graded in the Senior A Panel last year, however due to the referee exchange in New Zealand and a short holiday that led into the final series he was not able to mark the milestone last season.
I encourage any Referee who is available to head to Viking Park to support Ben and to join him after the match for a celebration drink at the Vikings Club.
This is a wonderful achievement and something Ben should be very proud off.
The Executive of the ACTRRA is pleased to announce that the following members of the Association have been selected in the ARU School Student Scholarship (SSS) programme.
These members join a select group of previous members who have been chosen to participate in the select programme.
Section for the SSS started last year, where Jeff Stone (2015 u19 corordinator), along with the 2015 Executive reviewed the nominees and put forward to the Brumbies and the ARU the names of students they believed would do themselves and the association proud, and more importantly had the potential to improve their refereeing skills to a higher level.
We are were very excited when all 5 nominees were selected for the programme.
Please join us in congratulating Mitch, Ben, Reuben, Adam and Lily on their selection.
It is with much sadness that the news has come through to the association that Peter Richards passed away earlier this week.
In his active career he refereed 60 First Grade games and a total exceeding 200 games. He was President from 1977 – 1980 and from his involvement in all aspects of the Association he was awarded Life Membership in 1988.
We will advise details of the funeral/server once they are available.
Our thoughts are with Peter's family at this time.
Congratulations go to ACTRRA's James Morris and Matt Hogan who have been selected to do a New Zealand exchange in May/June 2016.
James will travel to Canterbury and Matt will travel to South Canterbury.

The 2016 Registrations are now being accepted online. Unfortunately the RugbyLink system is not working correctly so we are again processing the registrations via the ACTRRA website.
Please click the link on the ACTRRA home page and complete the online registration.
Once complete you will then need to EFT your subs to the association.
Only after you have registered and paid your subs, will you be fully registered and thus insured and able to be appointed to games.
The RugbyLink E-Learning centre is working and all relevant courses including Smart Rugby can be done online. Again the link is on the Home Page of the ACTRRA site.
Life Members will be automatically registered and do not need to do anything.
If you have any questions please contact us via e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org

The Australian Rugby Union announced on February 9, 2016 the TNT Match Officials Team for 2016 with Angus Gardner and Amy Perrett joining Australian Rugby in a full time capacity in 2016.
Gardner will be the ARU’s top on field match official with Perrett becoming the first full time female referee in Australia. Perrett will commence her role in mid-February and will operate as a Referee Development Officer.
The full time positions top off a sharp rise through the global Rugby ranks for both officials with Gardner and Perrett both selected to officiate Test matches at the upcoming men’s and women’s Six Nations in March.
The Australian Rugby Union’s Head of Referees, Scott Young welcomed the challenges for this team in 2016: “I extend my congratulations to the entire TNT Match Officials Team for 2016 with a special acknowledgement to Angus and Amy on their appointments.
“We have a very experienced team working to ensure the best for our game from an officiating point of view and we look forward to the challenges ahead in 2016.”
In other new additions to the team former Queensland Reds player, Nic Berry and Jordan Way join the squad with Berry elevated to the Super Rugby Referees Panel.
