I am delighted to announce that Ben Nelson, has been appointed to debut this weekend (4th of July) in First Grade. Ben will take charge of the Wests v Easts game at Jamison Oval. On behalf of the Executive and members I congratulate Ben on his achievements in making his first grade debut and look forward to having a drink with him at the after match function. All the best Ben and remember "DFIU".
I am delighted to announce that Ben Rahilly, has been promoted to the ACTRA A Panel. Ben has had an outstanding season both in the middle as well as in the analysis he has done on his game. His GPR analysis has been a large part of his appointment, along with the time he has put into his fitness. Unfortunately due to his selection on the NPS Referee Exchange programme and family commitments, Ben will need to wait until 2016 to make his 1st grade debut in the local competition, however we have it on good authority that his first grade debut may still happen this year, just in another country (watch this space).
On behalf of the Executive and members I congratulate Ben on his achievements in making the A Panel and look forward to having a drink with him next year after this local 1st grade debut. All the best in NZ and remember "DFIU".
The Executive is delighted to announce that Ben Rahilly and Greg Saphin have been selected to participate in the National Plumbing Services Exchange programme to New Zealand. Both Ben (Referee) and Greg (Ref Coach) will leave for New Zealand on Friday the 3rd of July and be in NZ for around 9 days. We wish them both the best for their trip and hope they can grow their skills and enjoy the trip. It needs to be noted that Dennis Beissner (Ref and RC) was also selected to go on the Exchange however due to work commitments was unable to attend.
Regrettably we have to farewell Ariel Miners from the Executive. Ariel is moving to Melbourne and has resigned his position as Assistant Secretary effective the end of June.
The Executive of ACTRRA would like to thanks Ariel for his support and efforts since taking the post in November last year. As well as for his Refereeing efforts over the past few seasons.
The Executive has received a nomination for the vacant positon and will discuss this nomination at the next Executive meeting in July and advise the members once this position has been filled and seek confirmation of the person at the next General meeting as per the Objects and Rules of the Association.
Again we thank Ariel for this time on the Executive and wish him well for his future.
The updated Senior Gradings have been published here. Congratulations to the following Referees who have moved up grades?
- Matt Hogan (A Panel)
- Chad Burnell (B Panel)
- Brodie Ingram (B Panel)
- Bruce Gorrell (C Panel)
Well done to all for the efforts so far this season.
