ACT Rugby Referees Association (ACTRRA) is responsible for the allocation of referees for rugby union games in the ACT and surrounding NSW regions, ranging from; Yass and Goulburn to Bungendore; and Jindabyne to Batemans Bay. Each week referees are appointed to up to 80 junior and 35 senior games throughout the region. ACTRRA members are appointed as support officials to games involving the Brumbies A number of ACTRRA members have been appointed to officiate at the highest levels, including: Super Rugby, Test Matches and Rugby World Cup. In conjunction with Brumbies Rugby, ACTRRA strives to develop referees for both the local area and further afield.
The ACT Rugby Referee Association has been in operation since the 1960s. The Association is responsible for all matters relating to the administration, appointment, coaching and development of match officials within the ACTRU area of influence. The Association works closely with the Referee Development Officer (Rugby AU) and the ACTRU in areas such as: referee development, recruitment and retention of referees. The Association arranges an annual exchange program, social events and an annual dinner. The Association is served by two main committees: the Executive which is responsible for all administrative matters; and the Coaching and Grading Committees which have overall responsibility for the coaching, grading and appointment of referees.
The Association is an incorporated body under the ACT Associations Incorporation Act 1991 and has as the basis of its operations a Statement of Objects and Rules in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
The Association aspires to create the opportunity for all its members to officiate in the game of rugby within the ACT region at a level appropriate to the skill of the member and commensurate with the requirements of the match to which the member is appointed. The Association aspires to create the opportunity for advancement of its members within the local competition and more broadly within the Australian rugby community. The Association works closely with the Brumbies Referee Department to ensure referees are appointed to games.

ACTRRA Business Plan
The ACTRRA Business Plan describes how we will deliver and measure performance during the coverage period of the plan. The ACTRRA Executive will manage the implementation of this plan which complements the vision and objectives of Rugby Australia (RA) to build sustainable elite success, make rugby a game for all, ignite Australia's passion for the game, and create excellence in how the game is run. ACTRRAs plan is aligned with Rugby Australia's corporate and business plans as far as they relate to the administration of rugby union refereeing in the ACT and surrounding region.
ACTRRA’s Vision is:
a. To develop, administer and promote Rugby Union refereeing in the ACT Region while ensuring it is a role for all.
b. To provide a clear and progressive pathway for men and women in all forms of the game to become candidates for selection in the National Panel with a view to playing an active role in the 2027 World Cup.
c. To ensure the pursuit of best practice governance and processes are attained and shared with all relevant stakeholders.
