Australian Forestry School Trophy
Until 2004, there was no trophy to record the referee for ACT Rugby Unions’ Premier Division, 3rd Grade Grand Final.
Until subsumed by the ANU in 1965, the Australian Forestry School (AFS) located in Canberra had an active rugby club in the local ACTRU competition. Bob Newman and other ‘old boys’ of the AFS proactively sought out the ACTRRA to contribute a trophy in recognition of the qualities and benefits referees brought to their games. In 2004, Bob Newman presented the inaugural AFS Trophy.
With the competition restructure in 2010 this trophy was awarded to the referee for the 1st Division First Grade Grand Final.
In 2022, due to another competition restructure, this trophy is awarded to Canberra Suburban Grade grand final.
